Message the TT oil filter tree contains an oil cooler check valve that has a cracking pressure of 47-53 psi. This valve diverts a portion of the oil pump output to the oil cooler, and serves to regulate the system to approximately 60 psi when the engine oil is warmed up. None of this applies, however, if the oil cooler setup has been modified so that all of the oil goes through the cooler, eliminating the bypass setup.
